Our Story

In 2021, Toronto saw its first food shortage due to climate change - lettuce. The days of relying on a global food supply chain from California, Arizona and Mexico are over. We decided to create an entire new food system for cities, starting with Toronto, that uses 93% less land and water than traditional agriculture and is complete climate proof.

Edie Farming is a team made up of ex-google policy wonks and engineers dedicated to combating the effects of climate change. Edie also has numerous students ranging from architecture to policy at the University of Toronto aiding in our mission.

Most recently, Edie Farming won its first Pitch Competition earning us funding from the City of Toronto and has received further funding from the Ivey Business School.

Edie Farming produces fresh, organic leafy greens grown hydroponically in rooftop greenhouses in Toronto. As food costs continue to skyrocket, we are growing the greenest, most nutritious produce so you get quality for your dollar.

We want to give our customers reliable crisp, crunchy and delicious leafy greens and herbs. Most of all, we want to create a climate proof food system for cities vulnerable to climate change.
